The Market Data Connection team is looking for a disciplined and self-motivated software craftsman to join us. This individual will have extensive experience building high quality software products using clean coding principles and industry leading standards.
As an Apps System Engineer the candidate will support our portfolio of market data web applications and internal services. This candidate will also play a key role in green field application development to expand our platform into new areas. They will need to have a passion for building innovative software products that provide financial market intelligence. The candidate will also need to thrive in a team centric environment that focuses on delivering a high standard of quality with its products.
Responsibilities Create and support .NET service tier applications that will integrate into SOA environments. Be a secure coding practitioner who applies their excellent knowledge of secure coding best practices to all work produced. Take a technical leadership role on certain projects. Follow a Test Driven Development approach for creating software and produce a stable and reliable suite of unit and integration tests for any applications worked on. Work efficiently in an Agile environment and actively participate in SCRUM ceremonies such as Daily Standups, Backlog Grooming and Sprints Reviews. Apply extensive knowledge of Domain Driven Design concepts and techniques when building modern software applications. Apply commonly used design patterns and SOLID design principles in order to produce robust, loosely coupled, and easily extensible code. Actively participate in code reviews to constructively discuss coding approaches and exchange ideas on how to best deliver a top quality product. Coordinate code releases through a Continuous Delivery pipeline. Produce documentation and visual designs outlining architectural and implementation approaches. Collaborate with other teams within the firm so that our products can seamlessly integrate within the enterprise architecture. Stay up-to-date with the latest software technology concepts and techniques and actively share that knowledge with your colleagues.
5+ years of application development and implementation experience
5+ years of C#.NET experience
2+ years of RESTful or SOAP web services
2 + years of experience with SQL Server including, but not limited to, queries, views, stored procedures, indexes, functions, or triggers
1+ year of Agile experience
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
BS/BA in computer science, applied statistics, quantitative economics, operations research or a related field
1+ year of financial industry experience
Knowledge and understanding of test driven application development
Git or GitHub experience
