The Production Monitoring Technologies Services (PMTS) team is part of the Enterprise Technology Infrastructure group which is responsible for all aspects of the enterprise infrastructure and various applications. This role responsible for the architecture, engineering, development and oversight of new and existing applications for enterprise monitoring and systems management. Event monitoring is undergoing a transformation to support the firm's strategic initiatives. This includes developing and implementing an overall event management strategy, including supporting the firms cloud strategy, retooling compute monitoring, implementing an AIOps solution linked to automation that will provide meaningful events whilst driving automated resolution of known events. The Infrastructure Sr. Engineer will be responsible for the firm's infrastructure monitoring platforms and leading the transformation of the legacy monitoring platforms to support the firm's initiatives. As a technical thought leader with a wide experience and knowledge of vendor and open-source monitoring products and solutions, you will use your experience to help shape the future of monitoring eco-system and deliver a class leading service. As a Infrastructure Sr. Engineer you're able to help solve complex and mission critical problems. In addition to creating solutions with your in-house team, you'll also work alongside our team of technologists from around the world who are just as dedicated as you are. You will be highly experienced working in an Agile fashion and be responsible for managing all aspects of the product delivery. - Strong knowledge of industry leading monitoring solutions both vendor owned and open-source; including, DataDog, BigPAnda, Moogsoft, Prometheus, Graffana, ELK(Kibana) and App Dynamics etc.
- Hands on engineer who is comfortable in delivery as well as providing technical leadership
- Strong customer engagement skills
- Extensive experience of large-scale computing solutions having implemented advanced monitoring and automated solutions across a variety of applications and systems for both on-prem and cloud environments.
- Strong experience working as a DevOps or Site Reliability Engineer across both on premise and cloud environments.
- This role requires a wide variety of strengths and capabilities, including:
- Advanced proficiency with DevOps automation and Shell scripting
- Experience in on-prem and cloud-based application architectures, micro services, and distributed systems including hands-on experience with a cloud platform such as AWS or container technologies. AWS professional certification is preferred
- Lead by influence, mentor junior software engineers, ability to navigate to different teams and business to find solutions to complex problems
- Deep experience with various cloud-native technologies including Kafka, Cassandra, Cockroach DB, Kubernetes, Springboot, etc.)
- Strong data architecture skills
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years of systems analysis experience, systems programming experience or combination of both
- 3+ years of Agile experience
- 5+ years of experience with Linux operating system engineering or automation
- 5+ years of platform engineering experience
- 3+ years of experience with secure DevOps and deployment automation to cloud environments
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in managing IT infrastructure for a medium-to-large organization
- Relationship management experience with organizational partners and customers
- 5+ years of experience with Agile, Kanban, or Lean methodology
- Practical knowledge of ITIL application processes and implementation
Other Desired Qualifications
- 5 + years of Progress programming experience
- 3+ years of Cloud Foundry experience
- 3+ years of experience with Cloud technologies
- 3+ years of experience with Application performance, monitoring and optimization using Blazemeter, JMeter, Splunk and AppDynamics
- Experience in developing, deploying, monitoring and building large distributed and parallel systems using container technology including Docker, Kubernetes, AWS EKS, AWS Fargate
- Knowledge of industry wide technology trends and best practices
- Ability to work in large, collaborative teams to achieve organizational goals, and passionate about building an innovative culture
- Proficiency in one or more modern programming languages: Java, Groovy, Python
- Broad understanding of tools and technologies:
- Source Control (like Git, Bitbucket)
- CICD tools like Jenkins and spinnaker
- Infrastructure Automation (Ansible, Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, Puppet, Chef, etc.)
- Deployment Automation & Orchestration
- Container Concepts (LXD, Docker, etc)
- Strong on critical thinking, communication and team work skills are essential to this role
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
