Wealth and Investment Technology is seeking a Senior Database Engineer to be part of the Trust Middle Office team. The candidate will lead the planning, analysis, design, implementation, maintenance, and control of the databases used within Trust Middle Office web services delivery team. A successful candidate would have extensive database experience on multiple database platforms and will play a critical role in defining and building a new data analytics environment. The ideal candidate would be proactive, forward thinking, a good communicator, and will focus on successful delivery. Key Responsibilities include: - Act as a lead developer and provide application design, guidance, and consultation utilizing a thorough understanding of applicable technology tools and existing designs.
- Provide coding direction to less experienced staff and develops highly complex original code.
- Analyze highly complex business requirements, designs and writes technical specifications to design or redesign complex computer platforms and applications.
- Verify program logic by overseeing the preparation of test data, testing and debugging of programs.
- Oversee overall systems testing including ET, SIT, and UAT etc.
- Provide support during off-hours/weekend during production deployment and UAT.
- Providing oversight of operational and analytic databases.
- Partnering with development teams to implement new database solutions and maintain existing databases.
- Working with enterprise data teams to adhere to policy and procedures.
- Collaborating with database administrators to setup databases that meet the needs of the web service development team.
- Improving processes to make them simpler, faster, and more secure.
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years of software engineering experience
- 7+ years of experience leading the requirement design process with both technical and business partners
- 7+ years of SDLC (System Development Life Cycle) experience
- 7+ years of database design
- 7+ years of Oracle experience
- 7+ years of PL/SQL experience
- 7+ years of Agile experience
- 4+ years of experience leading multiple workstreams, applications, or deliverables
- 1+ year of experience with in-memory databases such as Redis, MongoDB, or Cassandra
- 1+ year of Pivotal Cloud Foundry (PCF) experience
- A BS/BA degree or higher
Desired Qualifications
- An industry-standard technology certification
- Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
Other Desired Qualifications
- 3+ years of brokerage or wealth management experience
- SEI Wealth Management Certification.
- An active Certified Scrum Master (CSM, PSM, or equivalent) certification
- Knowledge and understanding of cloud architecture, framework and design patterns
- Well versed in CI/CD processes (using Jenkins/uDeploy)
- Experience with Git and Github version control, Gradle, & Defect Tracking (JIRA) tools
