The Data and Analytics team helps to identify and analyze trends that uncover risk through manual and automated reporting which provides insights to Controls, Compliance, Policy Management, Boundary Development, FCRA data furnishing and Operational Risk and governance programs.
About the Role
Support analytics and reporting requirements for Consumer Lending Control and quality reporting along with reporting for Issues Management and other risk programs. Responsible for consulting with partners to identify and define business requirements and translate business needs into complex analysis designs and recommendations. Identifies and recommends internal and external data sources, compiles/mines data from multiple, cross business sources;
Conduct exploratory data analysis, Access data both within a structured database and semi-structured text or Excel files
Execute exploratory data analysis on structured and unstructured data Develop complex programming models to provide statistical and financial modeling specific to business
Optimize existing and create new SAS scripts through the use of SAS macros
Conduct analysis to better understand dataset informational value
Consult with partners to define issues/information needs
Ensure that analyses are delivered on time, while surpassing partner expectations
Proactively seek opportunities to increase the value of analysis
Conduct in-depth analysis, interpret and present findings to management, and participate in decision-making. Assess and predict risk and performance through business analysis
Perform complex activities related to business analysis. Provide analytical support for designing, testing, evaluating, implementing, measuring, monitoring and managing risk
Market Skills and Certifications
BS/BA degree or higher in a quantitative field such as applied math, statistics, engineering, physics, accounting, finance, economics, econometrics, computer sciences, or business/social and behavioral sciences with a quantitative emphasis
5-8 years of overall experience
Experience in risk monitoring and reporting
Strong knowledge of the financial services industry, products, and regulatory environment
Strong understanding of policies, procedures, and programs to ensure appropriate and effective risk mitigation controls are in place
6 years of analytical experience with high attention to detail and accuracy
6 years advanced programming exposure in SAS or SQL
6 years of strong hands on experience in BI reporting suite like Tableau, Power BI, Micro Strategy etc. good knowledge and hands on experience
Critical thinking skills with the ability to quickly recognize and resolve problem
SAS programmer with strong understanding of data marts and BI tools
Ability to translate analytical data into useful business information
Ability to learn the business aspects quickly
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Certification in Risk management will be a plus
