Business Analyst - Market Risk
Market Risk Technology department provides world class business solutions to support Corporate and LOB Market Risk teams. The group works with its business partners in identification, measurement, aggregation and reporting of Market Risk across the firm. The group works closely with the lines of business to ensure that risks are being appropriately managed within the defined risk appetite for the firm. Market risk activities include market risk, counterparty credit risk, issuer risk, country risk and liquidity risk. The Market Risk systems perform valuation, simulation, aggregation and reporting of risk metrics and models on all simple (bonds) and complex (structured products, derivatives) securities products. The Market Risk systems are also responsible for limits monitoring and management of intraday and end of day market risk measures.
The Market Risk systems support various Regulatory reporting requirements including Volcker, CCAR, FRTB reporting.
This role acts as a liaison between our business users and technology teams by planning, conducting, and directing the analysis of highly complex business problems to be solved with automated systems.
Provides technical assistance in identifying, evaluating, and developing systems and procedures that are cost effective and meet business requirements. Works with user groups to provide training, resolve questions, assess user needs, and recommend changes.
Prepares specifications for system changes. Recommends and initiates systems testing. Acts as an internal consultant within technology and business groups by using quality tools and process definition/improvement to re-engineer technical processes for greater efficiencies.
Provides direction and guidance to less experienced staff.
Responsible for handling the most complex quality assurance and test environment problems and issues. Acts as a lead in the creation, preparation, and conduct of quality assurance reviews and the development and execution of test plans and test scripts.
Works with client to establish and maintain a consistent test methodology and to resolve questions during the testing process.
May serve as a coordinator for all testing activities on a project.
Analyzes, tests, and certifies application-specific software and performs ambiguity reviews of business requirements and functional specification documents.
Uses advanced knowledge of applications to provide technical assistance in identifying, evaluating, and resolving highly complex test problems.
Researches new products and industry methodologies and facilitates the development of new concepts, techniques, and standards.
Plans and directs quality assurance schedules and assignments, and monitors project status in comparison to cost/time projections.
Logs, tracks, and verifies resolution of software and specification defects.
Documents all phases of QA process.

7+ years of business systems analysis experience, business systems design experience, or a combination of both
7+ years of business systems analysis or design experience
5+ years of experience capturing and documenting complex business and functional requirements
3+ years of Agile experience
3+ years of SQL experience
3+ years of experience using HP ALM or other testing tools
1+ year of compliance and controls testing experience
3+ years of experience testing web-based applications developed in Java or .NET framework
4 + years of experience with System Integration Testing (SIT)
2 + years of automation or regression testing experience
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Advanced Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, LiveMeeting and SharePoint) skills
Knowledge and understanding of capital markets: regulatory environment
