The Application Information Security (AIS) domain team, as part of the Information and Cyber Security (ICS) group, sets application security strategy to help equip application development teams deliver highly functional applications that are secure and resilient to attacks. This is accomplished by developing policies, processes, and tools that enable development teams to proactively embed security into Wells Fargo-developed applications. AIS is seeking a seasoned systems engineer to develop custom technology tools to improve application security effectiveness and efficiency in the Wells Fargo Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
In this role, you will specifically be responsible for developing solutions, including automated adherence validation routines to monitor effectiveness of AIS controls and policies in mitigating applications security risks. You will also be involved in the technical build-out and/or support of databases, query tools, reporting tools, BI tools, dashboards, etc. that enable analysis, modeling, and/or data visualization.
Primary job responsibilities include:
Leading the design, development, and implementation of custom software that integrates security, software development, and risk management systems
Defining and executing strategies for automated adherence verification of application security controls in a Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipeline
Managing the policy, process, and tools for remediation of identified application security risks
Managing the software release process for custom-developed software, including source code management, change management, documentation, and end user notification
Supporting patching, upgrade, and business continuity testing of related products
Ensuring tools and documentation are maintained in accordance with enterprise policies and best practices
Collaboration with an offshore development team
5+ years of application development and implementation experience
3+ years of information security experience
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Experience defining and/or developing business initiatives that require integration of multiple technology systems
Knowledge and understanding of banking financial services operations
Knowledge and understanding of mobile software security vulnerabilities such as the OWASP Top 10 Mobile Risks
3+ years of MS SQL server experience
5+ years of .net experience
5+ years of C# experience
Experience resolving and working through escalated and complex issues
Experience utilizing PowerShell, Bash, Perl, or Python to automate complex manual tasks
Knowledge and understanding of DevOps principles
Other Desired Qualifications
Knowledge of Web Application Firewall (WAF) technology
Advanced Application Security technical skills
Experience performing software development in a large enterprise environment
Experience with Agile and CI/CD technologies such as Jira, Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins, etc.
Understanding of information security practices and policies as implemented in a large enterprise environment
5+ years application security vulnerability detection and mitigation experience with Open Web Application Security Project (OWASP) Top 10 and SANS Common Weakness Enumeration Top 25
