The Fraud & Claims Management Technology (FCM) Leader will be part of the Consumer and Small Business Banking Technology leadership team and is responsible for technology supporting Fraud Prevention, Detection, and Resolution for Consumer customers. This leader will ensure daily support and systems availability and resiliency for Fraud & Claims systems and drive the transformation of the FCM Technology teams to realize application simplification and rationalization aspirations, as well as, agile team growth and maturation. The FCM business is investing in new capabilities with a critical dependency on technology as the enabler. Focus on delivery of business capabilities and the technology teams' transformation is required to drive strategy development and execution planning to achieve these goals.
This position is responsible for application design, development and support of the Fraud and Claims Management applications. Key success criteria for this role will be the ability to provide world class system availability while delivering solutions that provide a seamless end-to-end customer experience. This position will also be responsible for developing the technology strategy and road map to support the Fraud Ecosystem business strategy.
The leader in this position will:
Manage portfolio of mission critical applications, requiring very high availability and robust BCP and failover architecture. Down time would have far-reaching impacts across the enterprise and carry significant reputational risk
Define technology strategy/roadmap, provide strategic technology perspective to technology and business executive management and recommend innovations, aligned with short term & long-term business/customer requirements, enterprise priorities and industry trends
Leverage common/COE services (e.g. PMO, Application Architects, QA, Platform Management) to continually evolve and improve technology delivery
Act as the single accountable senior leader for delivering technology to the FCM line of business. Represent technology as the senior leader in the associated business senior management teams in addition to relevant business operating and risk committees
Partner closely with the line of business leaders to ensure that technology initiatives are aligned with business, enterprise and technology priorities
Demonstrate business partner value by understanding the business, advocating technology solutions to advance business initiatives, incorporating internal / external customer views, and managing key financial indicators to the benefit of Well Fargo's shareholders
Be the broker/author for technology solutions that efficiently and effectively meet business needs leveraging enterprise technology services with a bias towards consistency, standards and common solutions. Provide re-usable, scalable and secure solutions that can be leveraged across the organization
Build and maintain strong relationships with other functional areas in the Enterprise CIO group and across technology (e.g. Technology Infrastructure, Chief Operating Office, and Technology Risk Management) as well as critical enterprise partners (e.g. Enterprise Information Security, Enterprise Data & Analytics, Enterprise Global Services, Corporate Risk, Corporate Finance, HR, Communications)
Accountable for holistic technology performance including service level agreements, project performance, regulatory compliance, and vendor management
Provide senior technology perspective on industry trends, competitive landscape and market/regulatory changes leveraging industry contacts, vendors, and strategic technology partner relationships
Be the senior accountable owner for in scope applications portfolio ensuring strong technology operational risk management and compliance while also driving application portfolio rationalization, optimization and modernization
Manage and allocate appropriate people and financial resources to ensure projects are completed within committed time and budget and align with strategic objectives
Engage, partner and enhance relationships with existing vendors
Assess current staff capabilities, identify talent gaps, and execute talent management actions aligned with human capital strategy
12+ years of application development and implementation experience
7+ years of management experience in technology
Experience effectively interacting with a variety of contacts, primarily with others at the executive level
Experience managing all application development efforts within a medium-size line of business
Other Desired Qualifications
10+ years of experience leading highly technical teams and deliverables across diverse application technology environments
Relevant experience delivering technology services and solutions in a large dynamic financial services business segment with proven track record of developing and maintaining the highest availability standards for large scale platforms
Experience developing and leading technology initiatives in support of the Enterprise Fraud Ecosystem including Fraud Prevention, Detection, and Resolution capabilities, preferably for a consumer business
Ability to effectively drive and lead change in an organization with Wells Fargo's size, scale and complexity
Demonstrated experience in building, leading, developing and retaining a high performing team of leaders, strong technical experts and high performing professionals in a cultural environment that achieves results through team member engagement and satisfaction
Demonstrated ability to manage a large portfolio of technology initiatives across several major lines of business and effectively partner/influence at the senior executive level
Proven experience in developing technology strategy, operating model & roadmaps with clear objectives and aligned with business, enterprise and technology strategies
Broad experience across multiple areas of technology including one or more of architecture, infrastructure and application development with strong understanding of leading edge as well as legacy and distributed technologies to effectively manage the complex and diverse applications portfolio
Proven experience as a highly effective leader with credibility from demonstrating strong business and technology acumen
Highly effective decision-making/critical thinking/problem solving skills with a collaborative and results oriented leadership style
Demonstrated experience motivating and influencing groups or individuals across organizational boundaries to gain trust and confidence to make timely decisions
Demonstrated vendor negotiation and partnership skills
Excellent communication (oral and written) with ability to communicate at multiple levels ranging from technologists to senior managers and executive leadership
