This Operating Systems Engineer 6 position is part of the Wells Fargo Technology organization.
This is a senior level position and the ideal candidate will engage with technology vendors, partner with internal customers and work across the full technology stack to define & lead future designs that will scale and modernize the Wells Fargo compute environment. The right person must be comfortable being at the forefront of a rapidly changing automation landscape and have the experience to operate across the enterprise.
The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of various Windows server platforms and superior scripting, packaging and automation skills. He/She should have extensive experience automating delivery and configuration of software for enterprise distribution, specifically in large-scale Windows Server environments. Background with automation tools like Microsoft Configuration Manager, Powershell, Jenkins, Puppet, Chef, Go, Docker, is critical to success in the role.
The engineering team has ownership for layered system software products for the enterprise with a heavy focus on automation for currency and compliance. This leader will be responsible for automating application stacks, configuration drift, patching, vulnerability management, and reporting.
This individual will be responsible for thorough and extensive testing of scripts and packages, and will conduct peer reviews of those created by teammates. Candidate must be skilled at writing and maintaining technical documentation. Candidate will be expected to provide guidance to less experienced staff and resolve highly complex technical problems. Candidate must be comfortable working with senior leaders and capable of explaining complex problems in plain business language.
The ideal candidate will be a strategic and forward thinker, experienced with DevOps principles, a passionate technologist and expert in modern automation and technologies.
10+ years of operating systems analysis experience, operating systems engineering experience, or a combination of both
7 + years of experience with Windows server operating systems
5 + years of PowerShell scripting experience
3 + years of experience with Agile tools
A BS/BA degree or higher
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
5+ years of Configuration Management Tools experience
Knowledge and understanding of Git or GitHub
3+ years of JIRA experience
Experience using the team collaboration software Confluence
3+ years of experience with Cloud technologies
3+ years of Puppet experience
Other Desired Qualifications
Extensive knowledge and experience with Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager
The salary range displayed below is based on a Full-time 40 hour a week schedule.
