Home State Bank is hiring a full-time Senior Teller for the Crystal Lake, IL branch. Please note: Local candidates only.
The ideal candidate can’t help but smile all day long and loves to service customers while helping them to find the best financial products available.
Cross-sell full range of banking and ancillary products and services to current and potential customers.
Consistently meet or exceed sales goals as set by banking center management.
Consistently demonstrate designated customer service behaviors, including those necessary to proactively and effectively manage difficult customers and situations.
Receive checking and savings deposits: verify cash and endorsements, receive proper identification for cash back, and issue receipts of deposit.
Examine checks deposited and determine proper funds availability based on Regulation CC requirements and complete Hold Notices.
Demonstrate appropriate cash handling techniques and adhere to all cash handling teller and security procedures/guidance.
Answer basic customer inquiries while complying with all procedural and regulatory requirements.
Refer customers to management and/or other departments as necessary to support customer inquires/transactions.
Perform all teller transactions including, but not limited to, deposits, withdrawals, check cashing, issuance and redemption of official checks, loan payments, etc. while complying with all procedural and regulatory requirements.
Ensure teller station is properly supplied.
Follow procedures for removing accounts for dormancy.
Balance drawer daily.
Follow all security procedures including, but not limited to, keeping teller drawer(s) locked when not in use and properly securing cash at the end of each day.
Sign cashier’s checks within limits.
Complete all training courses as assigned and by due dates.
Follow all Home State Bank policies and procedures.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES (VARIES BY LOCATION)
Perform and assume other related duties as assigned.
Balance vaults, ATMs, coin machine, taxes, etc.
Ensure branch and vaults are opened and closed on a timely basis.
Enforce dual control procedures at all times.
Facilitate teller buys and sells to the vault.
Assist new tellers with training through active coaching, material review and modeling appropriate behavior.
Perform pre-audits to ensure ongoing adherence with compliance procedures. Assist with monthly and quarterly audits.
Report facility-building concerns to maintenance.
Process cash advances, lockbox, mail transactions, night depository transactions, ATM deposit transactions, etc. as applicable, while complying with all procedural and regulatory requirements.
Process telephone transfers.
Process stop payments and address changes.
Process wire transfer requests.
Facilitate buys and sells to/from branch and courier service.
Provide teller transaction overrides for Retail network as appropriate and permitted.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT AND CONDITIONS
Typical office environment with exposure to moderate noise levels.
Ability to stand for long periods of time.
Ability to see with corrective vision.
Physical ability to lift bags of coins up to 50lbs.

In-depth knowledge of all Home State Bank deposit products and policies.
Basic knowledge of Home State Bank loan, trust, and investment center products.

Strong communication skills.
Knowledge of all applicable federal regulations and teller roles and responsibilities relating to each.
TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or GED preferred.
Cash handling or sales experience preferred.
Prior customer service experience preferred.
