Role Summary: The incumbent will be responsible for developing and managing relationships with Financial Institutions and strengthening correspondent banking relationships by fostering new correspondence banking alliances; the incumbent will ensure the extension of the Group's reach to the assigned geographical areas of the world.
Role Description: You will be responsible for business origination through strong and effective relationships with Commercial and Investment Banks as well as Central Banks, to meet assigned financial and non-financial targets in compliance with QNB policies and procedures, regulations and prevailing best practices. You will assist in the origination and development of FI Trade Products, and prepare credit recommendations in accordance with the Financial Institution Industry. Assist in the implementation of the strategies and plans to achieve all volume, revenue, and profit targets. Support the Head of Corporate & Institutional Banking and AGM of FI & CB in the development of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for the purpose of performance monitoring and quality measurement of the Financial Institutions Unit and monitor their achievements on periodic basis. Meet and exceed target budgets for new and existing Financial Institutions relationships comprising placements, borrowings and loan syndications, etc., for the Financial Institutions Unit, in accordance with QNB's overall Corporate budget and strategy. Partner and coordinate with other divisions in the Bank when recommending relationships with counterparty banks and influencing them in enhancing their scope of business with QNB; Assist the AGM of FI & CB to develop and manage relationships with correspondent banks. Periodic travels to visit counterparty banks to market QNB as the Bank of Choice in the Country and where applicable, in the Region; Monitors the periodical P&L for the Branch, for Nostro/Vostro, treasury related and other income and expenses directly linked with counterparties FIs for the branch; Support Head of Corporate & Institutional Banking and AGM of FI & CB on business development, credit recommendation (increasing/ decreasing lines of credit etc.), and relationship management for selected local, regional, and international banks and other specialized financial institutions Manage the Financial Institutions' credit portfolio on overall basis to ensure targets are met, corrective measures implemented on timely basis and to gauge the quality and performance of the portfolio Approve credit proposals that are within the incumbent's delegated powers and submit those which exceed his approval authority to the higher approving authority. Continuously scan/ monitor reports from external rating agencies to identify significant up gradation/ downgrading of financial institutions and determine the impact of the same upon existing FI relationships.
Qualifications: The successful candidate will have demonstrable experience in the banking industry, preferably with a large International Bank in the UK. He/she will possess relevant relationship management and credit documentation skills and have an awareness of risk management concepts and practices. You will possess a University degree. Preferably an MBA in International Business or Finance. In addition, he/she will be well-informed of the market's competitive structure, industry practices and regulations for the Financial Institutions Sector. The position will be based in Paris. The ideal candidate should have the following experience & skills:-
Experience acquired within a major international/regional bank.
Advanced skills in Trade Finance and Cash Management with proven track record in generating sales and origination deals.
Deep knowledge of French FI market
