Directs activities of accounting, finance, and investments department. Keeps the president and executive vice president (s) informed concerning operational developments and consults with the latter regarding major decisions affecting the bank.
Manages the bank’s investment portfolio to maximize yield and ensure adequate liquidity, and pledges securities to collateralize public deposits. Consults with attorneys and others in making recommendations to revise the bank’s investment objectives.
Is responsible for managing the bank’s daily reserve and money position.
As cashier, maintains stock records, pays stock dividends, corresponds with the Controller of Currency, and executes procedures to increase capital as directed by the board.
Works closely with officers and other employees who report directly to him or her, evaluating their performance and developing their abilities to manage their respective areas. Is responsible for the selection, counseling, and salary administration of the entire staff.
Controls the bank’s cash position to maintain required daily reserves.
Manages the investment portfolio to collateralize public deposits and achieve the bank’s investment objectives.
Ensures that federal regulations are adhered to and sees to it that appropriate duties are completed correctly.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Skills and Abilities Required:
A high level of interpersonal skills to communicate policies, procedures, and objectives effectively throughout the bank and to represent the bank positively to significant external publics.
A high level of analytical skill to assess and evaluate the operation of branch offices, participate in establishing bank goals, and determine quality service indicators regarding bank productivity, customer service, bank losses, and sales.
Bachelor's Degree minimum required; MBA or CPA strongly preferred.
Requires a minimum of seven years experience in a retail branch environment; experience must have included at least five years of supervision in banking, lending, managing security for branch offices, and knowledge of ATM procedures and equipment.
Must have excellent supervisory skills, as well as strong knowledge of various regulations governing the financial services industry. Requires excellent organizational, verbal and written communication skills, as well as attention to detail. Must be highly motivated and have the ability to maintain confidentiality. Must be willing to travel.
